Beach Bum Batman

Happy Halloween!  You should have seen all the cool Jackolanterns!
Our final day was at Castaway Cay, Disney's private island.  We were scheduled to arrive in the port at 730 am.  I awoke around 615 am and the boat was vibrating and shaking and making all sorts of odd noises.  This continued all through our breakfast.  It was quite odd.
We headed down to get off the boat at 9 am and when we arrived to the bottom floor of the ship, an announcement came over the PA system that our boat had just finally docked.  (almost 2 hours late!).  Apparently, the storm had caused damage that made it difficult for the captain to dock our ship  But he did it!
While we waited for the ship to get ready for every one to come off, we met a few more characters.

Donald in his beach attire

Lilo and Stitch
You may notice that Logan has crocs on with his socks.  The child refuses to wear flip flops, so the best we could get (so we didn't have to take his tennis shoes) was crocs with socks.  Logan kept calling them his "Goofy shoes".  I think he called them this because they were big and black like Goofy wears sometimes too!
We were finally able to get off the boat and headed a short walk to the beach.  We had originally scheduled a glass bottom boat tour, but it was also cancelled due to the storm.  We weren't too sad.  There was plenty to do!
Let me tell you, Castaway Cay is gorgeous!  White sand, clear blue ocean with tons of lounge chairs and umbrellas!
Paradise!
The water was freezing, but Logan insisted we (meaning Logan and I) go in the water.  I am only posting pictures of myself in a bathing suit to prove I got in the freezing water!  There were tons of crazy people swimming, but Logan and I only lasted for a few minutes.
Hello!

This was right after Logan got knocked over by a wave.  He loved it!
The rest of the day, we explored the island, ate BBQ at the on island buffet and enjoyed playing in the sand.
Part of Castaway Cay's Mount Rushmore!

Logan wanted to pose in front of all of them!

This picture makes me look like a pro!  When Logan sees big rocks, he thinks they are all for photo ops and he automatically poses on them and says "Cheese"  I caught an awesome picture here!

Striking a pose!

Minnie and Mickey joined us on the island for a little dancing.  Logan didn't want to go away, but he wasn't so sure about the dancing...

Our cutie!

Yep-that is our 3 year old chatting up the bar tender....

Logan loved the sand!  He had it all over him.

Probably because he kept doing this...

Burying Mommy's flip flops

We spent several hours on land, them headed back to the boat to get ready for the Halloween bash!
Logan in his Batman costume

Yep-I crocheted the hat!

Dinner was excellent once again.  After dinner, we watched the final show, "Believe".  It was really good.  Logan did sleep through this one.  He was exhausted from all the fun of the day!

We did catch one final picture with Mickey!
We loved our Disney cruise and will definitely be going again soon!

Later Dudes!

Caution: Pirates Ahead!!!

More on our Disney cruise!  Missed out on Day 1?  Click here.  Missed out on Day 2?  Click here.
In reviewing my Day 1 post, I totally forgot about the shipwreck drill and the Sail Away Party!  The shipwreck drill (I'm pretty sure that isn't what they actually call it, but I like calling it that!) was boring and Logan fell asleep.  We woke him up to head up to the top deck to enjoy the Sail Away Party.  Boy those Disney characters have tons of energy on stage!!
Anyhow...onto our third day on the ship.  It was supposed to be our day at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, but Sandy apparently wrecked the island and Disney needed an extra day to clean up the island and prepare it for us so we spent Day 3 at sea.
Jeff took advantage of the day at sea getting a massage in the morning.  I, on the other hand, took Logan to see the Disney Princesses.  I'm pretty sure it was a good thing that I took him and not Jeff because poor Logan was the only boy in a very long line of girls waiting to see the princesses.
Logan loved the princesses and the princesses loved him! (and his blankie...)

Cinderella asked all about Logan's blanket

Logan was eating this up!

He filled Princess Tianna in on his favorite tag on his blanket

Check out that sly smile!

A hug from Belle (she is Mommy's favorite!)

Logan is no Beast!

Princess Aurora

I love this picture!

Ariel...I was a little disappointed that she didn't have her mermaid tail!

Logan didn't seem to mind.

Snow White

Snow White was the only princess that I recognized the person playing her from around the ship.  It was kind of sad for me...
Logan really liked the Princesses, but he really wanted to see Tinkerbell again.  She wasn't there, so we headed off to the buffet for breakfast and then up to the deck for a little cold swimming.  Once again, Mommy got to get in the pool with Logan while Daddy stayed warm...

We ate a wonderful lunch with a chilled strawberry soup to die for at the Royal Palace restaurant, but had to leave before dessert because Logan was getting restless.  I think he knew who was waiting outside the restaurant for him...

Tink!!

How cute is he?!?
Now here is my only complaint for the ship.  Yep, that is right, I have only one complaint!  There is no rocking chair on board.  Logan was in dire need of a nap and he was so tired that there were two options to get him to give in to sleep.  Either rocking in a rocker with him or carrying him and walking nonstop until he fell asleep.  Kudos to Jeff for wandering around the boat carrying Logan until he fell asleep.  Disney-get some rockers!!!
So far, Logan had seen all the characters he wanted except for the elusive Pluto.  Pluto never had any scheduled appearances and would always pop onto the deck above where we were and be gone by the time we made it up there.  Finally, he was making an appearance with Mickey and his friends!
And they were in their Halloween costumes!!!

Chip and Dale as cop and robber

Goofy as King Tut

Minnie as Witch and Pluto as a candy corn (check out his sweet dance moves!)

Logan had his toy Tink that he insisted we buy (Jeff was not happy!) and was showing it to the cop

Hmmm...

Oh no!! The robber took Tink!

The chase is on.

Logan was hilarious to watch.  He didn't know what to think.

Tink was saved!

Logan is all smiles now!

King Tut checking out Tinkerbell too

Scary!

Hugs.

Logan wanted Minnie to know that Mickey was upstairs!

Logan and Minnie

More hugs

Finally getting to rub Pluto's nose!

Boy was Logan excited.

Super Donald

To the rescue!

What a smile.

The most exciting part of the Disney cruise is Pirate Night!  Most of the day had different pirate themed things.  Logan really enjoyed watching Peter Pan up on the top deck.

Arrrrgh
Jeff was most excited about meeting Jack Sparrow!

Logan was not so sure.
Jack Sparrow was really funny.  He saw Logan's toy car and asked Logan how he shrunk a car?  Heehee!
After meeting Jack, we headed off for the Pirate Dinner.  Logan was excited because he got a corn dog for dinner.

Jeff and I at the pirate dinner

Jeff is gonna kill me, but this picture is too funny!  The photographer made him make a finger hook!!
Following dinner, we headed up to the upper deck for the Pirates on the Caribbean show.  It was really fun.  They sang and danced and taught everyone how to be a pirate.

Logan with his new pirate light up sword

All of their top deck shows did a really good job of integrating the big screen.

Karaoke.  Pirate style.

Logan practicing his pirate moves

He was pretty good!

Logan and I also ran into Pirate Minnie on board!
We decided to watch "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" that night.  Good movie, by the way.  Logan took a little snooze, but after it was over, we headed back up to the top of the ship for my most anticipated moment!!  The Buccaneer Blast!
Our ship was taken over by Captain Hook, but Jack Sparrow and Mickey saved us.  This was by far the coolest fireworks show I have ever been to.  They tied the fireworks in to the story line and plus Disney is the only cruise line to do fireworks at sea!!
Logan was thoroughly exhausted, so it was off to bed in preparation for our last fun filled day!

Coming soon: Castaway Cay!!
