Holy kamoley! (A more recent Memory Monday)

So anyone who followed Logan's first year on facebook will most likely remember the Cardinal bear pictures.  I took a picture every week of Logan's first year with the same bear to show how he was growing.
This was taken when he less than a week after he was born
I finally got a growth chart put on our wall and had an idea.
The same Cardinal bear 2 years, 3 months later
Logan 2 years, 3 months later!!
You always forget how little they are!  My little boy is really growing.  I am so glad that I took the pictures with the bear because I will always be able to look back at those pictures and see how little he was.
Now if only I can be as good at taking monthly pictures with his new growth chart...
Just a cute picture to end the post!

Just another one of THOSE days

You know, the ones where you wonder if you should have even gotten out of bed.  I think my day was made a little worse by the fact I am trying some new medication combinations for my allergies and I felt like I was in a fog most of the days.  I could barely put one foot in front of the other today.  But-I made it!
Logan is such a sweet little guy and all I really want to do is give him hugs and kisses.  (I mean, really, can you not want to plant kisses on that adorable face?!?)  He also takes after me and is extremely stubborn.  He WILL not do anything he does not want to do unless it is on his terms and his conditions.  It gets really old.  Jeff says that I should know how he feels with me all the time.  That may be true...I am pretty stubborn.
Logan had his speech therapy again today.  She is trying to bombard him with "M" and "B" sounds as these are sounds he should have developed a long time ago.  He just isn't catching on.  Occasionally a "ma" will slip out, but it is usually in reference to M&M's or fruit snacks.  I had originally hoped that his speech would improve rapidly with a little help, but it looks like this is gonna be a long, slow road for us.  I keep reminding myself that he is getting better even though it is slow.
Tonight I just didn't feel like cooking and decided a trip to McDonalds would be a fun treat for Logan.  (He usually only gets McDonalds on trips.)  Well, when he went outside he saw his darn bubble mower.  I have a love/hate relationship with that stupid toy!  I love that it can entertain Logan for hours on end, but I hate that Logan has a tantrum almost every time we try to get him away from it.
He decided he wanted to play with his bubble mower instead of eating.  By the time I got him away from the bubble mower and into the car he was a tired, cranky hot mess!
Logan and his bubble mower (picture is from a few weeks ago...that's why he's in shorts)
We ate our McDonalds and then cuddled on the couch watching Cars.  I guess my day wasn't so bad at all...especially once my medicine induced fog lifted!

Horsin' Around in Missouri

We took a trip to visit my family in Missouri a few weeks ago.  As many of you may know, Logan is a man of few words, but one word he knows really well is horse.  We never figured out why he learned to say the word horse clear as day, but cannot say simple words such as Mama or mine.  It really doesn't matter because it is the cutest thing when he says it!  (If I was really good, I'd put a video clip in of him saying it, but I'm not that techno savvy today).  My brother has a few horses, so I had asked if we could let Logan ride some horses when we were in Missouri.  My brother (always wanting to turn Logan into a country boy), of course, agreed.  My mom and Jeff did not think Logan would get on the horse, but....

he did!  Here he is signing "more".  He loved riding the horse!
Don't worry, I have an excessive amount of photos to show you!

My niece Lillie went for a ride first to show Logan how it's done since she is an old pro (she's 19  months old...)

Logan was at first a little timid...

But he had no trouble petting the horse!

He LOVES it!

"Hello world!"

Lillie decided to hop back on

Our little cowboy and cowgirl

I think Lillie was tickling Logan's ear here

"This is heaven!"

"Giddyup horsie"

Magoo (my brother's father-in-law) lead the horse around

"Whoa horse!"
Cousins

Riding off into the sunset?

"Uncle John.  Take me over there!"

Logan was kissing the horse here!
Logan hopped off the horse with less crying (none) than I expected.  He wanted to do it again, but we told him it was time to get off.  Oh, and we bribed him with getting to play with Lillie in her "park playground".
"Here Lillie.  Let me help you"

Logan attempting to pick Lillie up to help her onto the Wonder Horse.

Mommy gives him a little assist.

They played so well together!
Once we made it back to John's house, we let the kiddos play a little more while the older men went outside to try out Jeff's new gun.
Oh My!

John tries it out too!

Look out! Dad has the gun!

Yes, Logan did have a bow in his hair to match Lillie's while they were playing!
Our trip also included a trip to the World's Largest Rocker.  (I know you are all extremely jealous!)

We also made a stop by a local winery where I could have bought about 20 bottles of wine, but didn't and ate dinner at an amazing local steak place.  The trip ended with Jeff helping my dad clean out the gutters.  This was a bit scary...

We also got to check up on "our" dog Jake who is on extended vacay with Grandma and Pappy.  You may remember me posting about this a while back, if not go here.  When we left, we were all sad.  Logan had a great time and he is still telling everyone about his horse ride!
Grandma and her toddlers!
